Overkill Radio
2021 - Present
New Music Director and On-Air Talent
I am currently the host of an online-based radio show, as well as in charge of finding new music for the station to play. As the host of this show, I am responsible for creating my own on-air content outside of the music played, as well as finding the music for the show each week. As the New Music Director, I am in charge of finding and entering new music into our library, as well as reporting the songs that are currently being played the most to the industry.
89.5 FM WSOU
2017 - 2021
Interim Programming Director (May 2021 – August 2021)
Music Director (May 2019 – May 2021
Assistant Music Director (May 2018 – May 2019)
While at WSOU, I went through the usual training process, including answering the phones for requests, reporting the news, and DJing overnight, until being granted permission to DJ during the day. I was one of the lucky few who were allowed to DJ during the 4pm-8pm drive-time slot on Fridays, a spot I held on to throughout most of my WSOU career. In 2018, I was chosen by the current Music Director to be their assistant, and subsequently elected to replace them as Music Director in the Spring of 2019 and re-elected in 2020. This allowed me to pick, edit, and import new music into the radio's music library, as well as create pre-recorded spots for on-air play. I was also in charge of setting up interviews and other various forms of press, like photo passes and festival coverage. As Interim Programming Director, I was in charge of scheduling the on-air programming and talent until a full-term Programming Director was elected.
